Duties and responsibilities

General Administration & Procurement: Oversee institutional procurement of goods and services and management of property and equipment; Supervise procurement of goods and services in keeping with the Bank’s rules and procedures; Prepare and monitor service providers’ contracts; Ascertain sound stock keeping for office supplies and inventory of Bank property and equipment.
Undertake any other official duties that may be assigned by the Resident Representative.
Selection Criteria

Including desirable skills, knowledge and experience
At least a Master’s degree in Accountancy, Finance or Administration. Membership to an internationally recognized professional accounting body (CA, CPA, ACCA or Expert Comptable) would be an advantage.
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience including 3 years of experience in an accounting firm or in an international/multinational financial organization, plus 2 years in a public or private sector organization.
Capacity to work effectively in a team.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing, in English or French.
Competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of SAP S/R would be an advantage.

Giving the Youth Hope for Future Employment

Nigeria is a country on the cusp of a major change. A good education is the key to this, and Nigeria is working with several global agencies to improve secondary education. The World Bank has invested millions of dollars into the EKO Secondary School Project, which has been running since 2009. The project has benefitted over 620,000 students so far in 667 secondary schools in Lagos State by helping children from low-income backgrounds access education. The results speak for themselves. Students from schools taking part in the project achieved much higher grades in the Basic Education Certificate examinations with scores going from 30% to 70% in English, 31% to 45% in Mathematics and 27% to 65% in Basic Sciences.
Marie Francoise Marie-Nelly, World Bank Country Director for Nigeria, is thrilled at the project’s success: “When students from poor families have the opportunity to go to secondary school and acquire sound knowledge and skills, they stand a fair chance of getting a good job or accessing economic opportunities later in life,” she said. “This in turn contributes to eliminating extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity, two of the World Bank’s main goals.”
Another organization helping the young of Nigeria reach their full potential is the African Leadership Academy, an exciting institute that takes talented young people and nurtures and guides them to reach their ultimate goals.
