Summary

  • CEOAfrica an online media organisation is looking for a full-time news reporter to join the news reporting team. We are currently seeking a reporter to join our growing newsroom. This reporter will write daily news stories, work with entrepreneurs, businesses and the business community and write up news and reports that come in from organizations.
  • An ideal candidate would be an aggressive yet careful reporter who is able to conduct interviews, write business news stories, quick to scoop on business happenings, events, information and results.
  • She/he must be editorially strong and creative, a good writer and reporter, resourceful in the field, able to work both independently and as part of a team, unfazed by tight deadlines, and skilled in the latest news gathering technologies. Responsibilities include pitching, developing and producing stories across all platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Researching and writing on multiple business categories, sectors and markets
  • Attending business events and reporting on them
  • Conducting business interviews and writing the reports thereof
  • Writing and filing reports or visual elements from news events using a mobile device

Qualifications

  • Computer literate and ability to work well with msword, windows, powerpoint and presentations

  • At least two year minimum of writing experience from community, online or regional news entities in an internship or professional capacity

Job Title: Video Editor

Summary

  • We are looking for an experienced video editor who will be responsible for cutting and editing film footage until it meets a director’s approval.
  • Rearranges and splices scenes that have already been shot, determines if scenes need to be reshot, and inserts music, sound, or optical effects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Edit film until it meets director’s specifications.
  • Watch scenes and determine which will end up on cutting room floor.
  • Rearrange scenes.
  • Work with and manipulate raw camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects.
  • Determine which camera angles to use.
  • Insert music, sound, or optical effects.
  • Use nonlinear digital editing systems to edit clips.
  • Work with work prints to organize the scenes and transitions that make up a film.
  • Create edit decision lists to correspond to the edge numbers.
  • Edit film for commercials, station identification, and public service messages on television films and tapes.
  • Check films for damage.
  • Purge damaged or old tapes.
