Job Description

  • We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven General Manager to oversee and manage our organization’s business activities and to develop and implement effective business strategies and programs as well as operations of our renewable energy business unit.
  • As General Manager of Operations you will have senior level operations experience in renewable energy with a track record of providing operational deliverables at a senior management level.
  • You will provide a clear strategic direction to operational elements within the organization and identify and implement the required commercial solutions.
  • The successful candidate for this role should possess excellent communication skills, superior knowledge of renewable energy business functions, exceptional budgeting, and finance skills, and strong leadership qualities.
  • The noteworthy general manager should account for all business activities, support staff development, enhance efficiency, drive sales and improve revenue, maintain relationships with clients, enhance the organization’s image, and meet overall growth objectives.
  • To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits are on the rise.

Your Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the CEO and other directors ensuring the company meets its overall objectives
  • Provide responsibility for all operational aspects of renewable energy business unit
  • Co-ordinate the operations strategy, directing key managers who are responsible for the operational activity
  • Accountability for finance, quality, project management and supply chain management,
  • Responsibility for budget planning and management
  • Responsibility for project delivery on time and within budget
  • Provide operations status management reports and activity reports which will be made alongside internal senior executives
  • Develop relations with partner companies in supporting current and future projects
  • Manage the strategy for supply chain management
  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
  • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors).
  • General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies.

Requirements and Skills

  • B.Sc / HND in relevant field; MSc is a plus
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
  • Significant renewable energy experience
  • Minimum of five years senior management experience
  • Extensive experience contracting for large scale capital renewable energy projects
  • Knowledge of all elements of renewable energy generation Strong supervisory and project management skills
  • P&L and budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Experience in financial evaluation of investment prospects.
  • Ability in identifying, analyzing, evaluating and negotiating commercial opportunities.
